Voices in the water
I hear voices
in the water.
Gentle and soft
they call
in the babbling stream,
telling me stories of the water sprite
who plays the flute
in the blue-green dusk.
Then the voices sing
in wavering tone
their enchantment to the ocean.
I weep bright tears
seaward.
